Stories make mental health more visible
Behind every Yellow Bench is a story.
It might be a conversation that mattered. A moment of connection during a difficult time. A bench painting event that brought people together. A workplace, school or community choosing to make mental health more visible.
These stories help show what the Yellow Bench Project is really about: people showing up for one another in everyday ways.
We’d love to hear from you
You do not need to have a dramatic story to share.
Maybe you:
- spent time at a Yellow Bench
- shared a meaningful conversation nearby
- painted or installed a bench
- hosted a Yellow Bench in your workplace, school or community
- checked in with someone
- saw a Yellow Bench make a difference
- found support through the project or Resource Hub
Every experience helps tell the story of how communities across Western Australia are helping make mental health more visible.
Some ideas to get started
If you’re not sure what to write about, you might like to tell us:
- What happened?
- What did the Yellow Bench mean to you?
- Did a conversation or connection stand out?
- What did you learn from the experience?
- How did it make a difference?
- What would you like others to know?
There is no right or wrong way to share your story.
